No two projects are the same, so I prepare a customized quote for each client I work with. With that being said, it’s nice to have a general idea of how much this might cost.
Word count, format (Word, PDF, website), and desired turnaround time are all factors in my pricing. On average, I charge $0.02/word for proofreading, and $0.05/per word for proof-editing or light editing. Remember that proof-editing services include proof-reading.
For small projects I may quote an hourly rate with a minimum fee of $30, as it may not be practical to track per word. Full payment will be due up front for small projects.
For large projects, I will charge per word. A 50% deposit is required up front, and the remaining balance will be due upon completion. Once the deposit is paid, I can begin to work on your project.
Word count can be determined by referencing the word count within Word, or by cutting and pasting your text into a tool such as Easy Word Count. If your content is on your website, simply cut and paste your text into Word for easy editing/proofreading.
